Legendary rapper DMX passed away on April 9th, as a result of complications following a heart attack he suffered a week prior. DMX helped define the era of the late 90’s and early 00’s through his music and influence. His loss has undoubtedly caused tremendous grief to millions worldwide.
DMX was born Earl Simons on December 18th 1970 in Yonkers, New York. Earl suffered a difficult childhood at the hands of his mothers abusive boyfriend and the very streets he grew up in. Drugs and Violence were a part of his childhood as early as the age of 14.
Earl realized rap was the only way to make it out of the life he knew, and so in the early 90’s he began dedicating all his time to his craft These years of pain made Simons into the tough, resilient person who defied all odds and succeeded in life while he was set up for failure.
Athletes, Celebrities, and other Artists have used social media platforms to express their sorrow on the passing of the Rapper. DMX saw multiple songs and albums go platinum, as well as being one of the highest paid rappers to ever live. Sources say he fought to the very end, and that I have no doubt.
