On Monday night, February 22, Vanessa Bryant posted a picture on her story tagging and confronting the American rapper Meek Mill about using an insensitive line mentioning Kobe Bryant.
Kobe Bryant passed away with his daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash last year.
The post was aimed towards Meek Mill on Instagram, Vanessa said the line in the lyrics was “extremely insensitive and disrespectful”. She continued writing and ended up saying “I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this,”.
The basketball star Candice Parker sent her a support message saying she is so sorry for what her and her family needs to go through and that it’s not fair or right towards the family.
Meek Mill, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, responded on Twitter, writing “I don’t think we on the same signal y’all… I don’t see what y’all see.”
He clarified that these tweets or the lyrics weren’t aimed at Bryant and her family. He mentioned later that he did apologize to her in private and not to the public.
