Alex Trebek, who has hosted the game show “Jeopardy!” for the last 36 years, has died yesterday (November 8) at 80 years old from pancreatic cancer, which he had been fighting for over two years.
Ryan Reynolds tweeted, “Alex Trebek was kind enough to film a cameo for our film Free Guy last year despite his battle. He was gracious and funny. In addition to being curious, stalwart, generous, reassuring and of course, Canadian. We love you, Alex. And always will”.
Viola Davis also tweeted, “RIP Alex Trebek. A true, true gentleman and courageous hero. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest”. These are only two out of the countless celebrities that have expressed their sadness and sent their condolences to the family, friends, and fans of the TV personality.
He passed away in his home surrounded by his family and close friends, and is survived by his wife since 1990, and his three children.
