Giannis Antetokounmpo is a two-time NBA MVP and one of the most dominant players in the NBA.. He’s been with the Milwaukee Bucks since his first year in the NBA in 2013, and has never accomplished much success, only ever getting to the Eastern Conference Finals once in the 2018-2019 season.
The 2019-2020 season saw the Bucks eliminated once again in the Eatsern Conference Semifinals against the Miami Heat, lead by Jimmy Butler.
Basketball Experts question if Giannis is wasting his potential and prime in the sub-par team of Milwalkee, and should leave for a better supporting cast of teammates.
Teams have expressed willingness to sign Giannes such as the 2019 NBA Champions in the Toronto Raptors, the Dallas Mavericks holding one of the best players in the league in Luka Donic, and finally the 2020 NBA Finals contenders in the Miami Heat.
Giannis has expressed he will not ask for a trade and will stick with the team for at least one more season, but the question is if Milwalkee should keep the Greek Freak or trade him. If they keep Antetokounmpo they risk a mediocre 2021-2022 season and then losing their star player to then have a team with no All Star and no trades.
If they trade the star they ensure they get a plethora of good players and money to carry Milwalkee after Giannis leaves regardless if they do well or poorly in the 2021-2022 season.
The team has until February 2021 to finalize their decision.
