On Saturday, September 19th, Manchester United faced Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, where they lost 3-1. Andros Townsend scored the opening goal for Crystal Palace in the 7th minute of the game.

Crystal Palace won a penalty from a hand ball by Victor Lindelof in the 74th minute. Ayew stepped up to take the penalty but it was saved from David de Gea, only for the VAR to declare that the keeper had come off his line too early. The penalty was retaken by Zaha who scored it.

Man United’s new signing from Ajax (Donny van de Beek) came on for his debut and scored in the 80th minute to give United a chance at 2-1 but Crystal Palace’s Zaha went on to score again to make it 3-1 at the final whistle.
