French President Emmanuel Macron announced that a number of quarantine restrictions are going to be lifted.

Restaurants, cafes and hotels have already been allowed to open in many regions of France earlier this month. However, from this moment on, cafes and restaurants can open everywhere across France, even in Paris. Moreover, travelling to other European countries is going to be allowed too. Many other countries in Europe are also re-opening borders for EU countries only.

Furthermore, retirement homes will open for the family members’ visits. Schools are also allowed to open from 22 June, except for high schools.
However, the president added that “this does not mean that the virus has gone and we can completely drop our guard. The summer of 2020 will be a summer unlike any other and we will need to watch the evolution of the epidemic to be prepared in case it comes back with renewed strength.”
