The President of the US calls the high number of diagnosed Covid-19 infections a “badge of honor”. The rising number of cases means that the United States is testing more people. The US is also much a bigger country than most. “I view it as a badge of honor. Really, it’s a badge of honor,” Trump stated. “It’s a great tribute to the testing and all of the work that a lot of professionals have done.” According to Johns Hopkins University, there are currently 1.5 million confirmed coronavirus cases and nearly 92,000 deaths in the US.
In addition, Trump is considering a travel ban on Latin America, especially on Brazil, as it has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the world at the moment. He said: “I worry about everything, I don’t want people coming in here and infecting our people. I don’t want people over there sick either.”
