Donald trump acquitted after months-long impeachment trial

On the afternoon of February 6th, the U.S. Senate gained enough votes (52 to 48) to acquit Trump of the first impeachment charge against him: abuse of power.
For President Trumps, second impeachment article “obstruction of Congress” he was acquitted with a 53 to 47 vote. The Republican-held chamber voted 51 to 49 last week to block hearing a new testimony, thereby finally ending the month-long impeachment trial.
