Dubai Media Office Clarifies Iran’s Missile Threat Towards Dubai is Fake

Yesterday it was reported by dozens of news sources that Iran threatened to “destroy” Dubai if the US retaliates after Iran’s missile attacks against US military bases in Iraq. The Daily Mail reported on the issue saying:
“The Guard issued the warning via a statement carried by Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency.
‘We are warning all American allies, who gave their bases to its terrorist army, that any territory that is the starting point of aggressive acts against Iran will be targeted,’ The Guard said.”
However, these claims have been reduced to only rumors as the Dubai Media Office released a statement later via their twitter stating: “.@DXBMediaOffice confirms that the rumors being circulated regarding security threats targeting Dubai are fake and haven’t been issued from any official source in the Iranian Government. We urge everyone to refrain from circulating fake news and spreading rumors.”
According to the organization’s website; “The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) is responsible for implementing strategic communication plans for the Government of Dubai as well as disseminating government-related news in cooperation with local government agencies.”
