World’s Current Oldest Living Women Awarded Nobel Prize

On 9 March 2019, 116-year-old Japanese women Kane Tanaka was recognized as the world’s oldest living person by The Guinness World Records. She was born on 2 January 1903, the same year in which the Wright brothers first succeeded in their powered flight.
She currently lives in a nursing home in Fukuoka, waking up at 6 a.m. every morning and enjoying the classic board game Othello. According to The Guinness World Records, she survived several cataracts and colorectal cancer surgeries and is now living a healthy life.
Title of the oldest person ever in history is held by a French woman named Jeanne Louise Calment, and in order to break this all-time record, Tanaka has to live another six years until 2025.
