On 6 March, the ex-boss of Nissan, Carlos Ghosn, has been released from a Japanese prison for bail of 1 billion yen ($8.9m). Previously, Japanese courts have refused all requests for bail, sparking international criticism as the former CEO has been held in imprisonment for over 3 months.

Carlos Ghosn has been arrested in Japan and charged with financial misconduct, and a breach of trust, he refused to admit to any of the charges. He called his arrest “a plot and treason” executed by his competitors to destroy the alliance that he has formed between Nissan and Renault.
