Yesterday, 24 November, the world-renowned magician, and actor passed away at age 72 of natural causes in his home in America, Los Angeles. The confirmation of his passing came from his manager, Winston Simone, who said: “He was one of a kind, we will never see the likes of him again.”
Ricky Jay starred in films like “Boogie Nights,” “House of Games” and “Deadwood.” Actor Steve Martin once told the New Yorker, “I sort of think of Ricky as the intellectual elite of magicians, Ricky’s was a master of his craft.”
The Guinness world record holder (for throwing a playing card 58m at 145km/h,) is survived by his wife, Chrisann Verges. Ricky’s legacy will live on through the documentary on his life, books written by him, and all the people he has taught along the way.
Ricky Jay will be missed.
