Raging floods kills 12 people in Mallorca
At least 10 people, including 2 Britons, have been killed in the island of Mallorca in Spain. Some parts of the island were hit by up 9 inches (23 cm) of rainfall in a matter of hours. A total of 300 people were working in the area that was devastated by the torrential rains last Tuesday. 12 people were killed: six Spaniards, three Germans, two Britons, and one Dutch. A total of 324 vehicles were destroyed by this catastrophe and many families lost their home.
The northeast of Spain continued to suffer the after-effects of the tropical storm “Leslie” on Monday. Even famous tennis player Rafael Nadal left his concentration at the Shanghai Open to go help people in need in Mallorca.
