The UFC 229 fight was held on October 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Las Vegas Nevada, Tensions ran high all week leading up to the fight, and the atmosphere was electric at the weigh-ins and the press conferences.

Main Event: Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor Mcgregor: Lightweight Title Fight

Khabib win by submission in the 4th round.

Khabib kept his cool and stuck to his takedowns and his wrestling game plan.

Khabib keeps 27-0 record and remains the undisputed champion in the lightweight division.

Conor is planning a comeback to either go straight back for the rematch against Khabib or go through Tony Ferguson (below) first which many people are expecting.

Co-Main: Tony Ferguson vs Anthony Pettis: Lightweight

Tony Ferguson Wins by TKO/KO in the 2nd Round.

Tony beats former lightweight champ, Anthony Pettis, securing his number 1 contender place in the lightweight division putting him in line to fight either McGregor or Khabib for the championship belt.

Undercard: Ovince Saint Preux vs Dominik Reyes: Light Heavyweight

Dominik Reyes wins by decision.

Dominik has won all of his 10 bouts in the light heavyweight division and is eager to fight the two-time weight division champion Daniel Cormier for the belt. Cormier is due to fight Derrick Lewis next, who just beat Alexander Volkov at UFC 229.

Undercard: Derrick Lewis vs Alexander Volkov: Heavyweight

Derrick Lewis wins by KO in round 3

Derrick Lewis plans on fighting Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight belt after knocking out Volkov in a very unexpected finish for the fight. Everyone was stunned by the knockout as it was quite clear that Volkov was dominating the fight by evidence of the stats.

In conclusion, UFC 229 was a very successful event shelling out over 7 million dollars in paychecks to the fighters involved. However, due to the Khabib vs Dillon Danis brawl after the fight, Khabibs whole purse is being taken away including a huge suspension he could get due to the brawl. Significantly, McGregor gets to keep his purse.
