YouTube prankster jailed for shooting boyfriend dead
On Wednesday, a judge in the United States of Minnesota sentenced a woman to six months in jail for fatally shooting her boyfriend in a botched stunt they hoped would go viral on YouTube. Monalisa Perez, a 20 year old mother of two children, was asked by Pedro Ruiz to fire a gun at him from a foot away, believing a thick book he held in front of his chest would shield him. However, the bullet pierced the 1.5 in book and Ruiz died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. Ruiz and Perez hoped for internet fame by filming one of the most dangerous videos. Prior to this video the couple had only been recording minor pranks.
