The fast food chain Mcdonald’s will transition from frozen patties to fresh ones at the end of June. McDonald’s is looking to improve their food quality. Burgers with fresh beef will be sold at almost all of the 14,000 restaurants in the US. McDonald’s UK business said “We will watch what happens in the US and see if this innovation is something we should consider in the UK.” The beef patties were frozen in the restaurants until now. In fact frozen burgers take 20-40 seconds longer to fry. McDonald’s is trying to fend off its competition, including burger chains such as Shake Shack by using fresher ingredients. The company is trying to create a different perception of themselves. Some other things they have done is tweaked prices, added to the menu and stopped using high fructose corn syrup. The US McDonald’s president Chris Kempczinski said that this will be the most significant change after it started offering all-day breakfast in 2015.
