United Airlines has banned an “emotional-support peacock”

“Dexter”, a rescue bird of brooklyn-based artist Ventiko, has recently been banned from a United Airlines flight departing from the Newark airport in New Jersey. Although Ventiko offered to purchase a ticket for the bird, the airline refused, suggesting that the peacock did not meet size and weight regulations.

More airlines have been allowing pets online for emotional support, however, the number and type of animals that have been requested on-board have increases, resulting in suggestions that people are abusing the policy.
