London buses to be powered by coffee

Waste coffee grounds will be used to help power London buses from Monday. A biofuel created by blending oil extracted from coffee waste with diesel is to be added to the public transport food supply. Bio-bean claims it has produced enough coffee oil to power 1 bus for a whole year (essentially 2.55 million cups of coffee.) This isn’t an unrealistic achievement as it is estimated Londoners generate 200 000 tonnes of coffee waste a year which is equivalent to powering 336 busses for the year.
