Alcohol ban for US troops in Okinawa Japan
The US Military has banned its troops stationed in Japan from drinking alcohol and from leaving its base following a suspected drunk driving related crash on Okinawa island. On Sunday, a US soldier crashed his truck into a minivan, killing the local driver of the other vehicle.
In a statement, the US military confirmed that one of their service members was involved in the accident and said that “alcohol may have been a factor”.The military also announced, “mandatory training to address responsible alcohol use, risk management and acceptable behavior” for all its troops across Japan.
