The DAA community is excited to have Mr. Benjamin Voborsky, the new Deputy Superintendent. He is passionate about helping students, which is what lured him into the educational field. The following is an interview with Mr. Voborsky that gives us a sneak-peak on who he is and what he does.

Where are you coming from and where are you from originally?
I was most recently at GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi. Before Abu Dhabi, I have lived and [worked] in Europe, Asia, and Africa. I am originally from Wisconsin, USA, so I am a Green Bay Packer Fan! My wife, Sarah, is Canadian and we have a summer home in Nakusp, British Columbia.

What got you into the educational field?
My mom’s service learning background is what interested me in the educational field and my mother-in-law’s background in special education contributed as well. From them, I learned the importance of developing learners who help create a better and more peaceful world for others.

How do you like Dubai so far what is it about Dubai that you’ve loved the most?
Dubai is a fantastic busy city [built] on intercultural understanding and respect. I love the variety of opportunities for my family.

What is your craziest experience you have had so far?
My craziest experience in Dubai so far has been purchasing an old Land Rover Defender 110 to restore.

What do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy traveling, photography, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I really enjoy being at DAA with our community; Go Leopards!

DAA is excited to have Mr. Voborsky as a part of our community.
