Yemen Cholera Outbreak is Worst in History
In the last six months, there have been over 600,000 cases of cholera in Yemen, half of which are of children under the age of 18, and a quarter of all the cases accounted for were children under 5. This has surpassed the previous worst outbreak in Haiti and is a cause of the civil conflict that has been raging in recent years. Safe water sources are now scarce as many sanitation workers have gone on strike, therefore, letting pollutants into the water system.
