Mr. Abhishek Singh is a new robotics teacher here at DAA. The Pawprint has had the opportunity to interview Abhishek Singh and learn about his experience at DAA so far.

What nationality are you and what was your childhood like? How many countries have you lived in?
I’m from Mumbai, India and my childhood was a lot of fun with parks, games, piggyback rides on my Grandpa. I have lived in 3 countries so far – India (my home), Australia and UAE.

Have you always been a teacher? If not, what were you doing before you came to DAA? If so, where else have you taught?
I started teaching 12 years back. I have loved working with students so much that I have never thought about doing anything else in these 12 years. Before that I was a Systems Manager for Domino’s Pizza in Australia and New Zealand. I designed their touch screen systems and had free pizza twice a day.

What has been the strangest experience you have had in teaching or in general? What is the craziest moment you’ve had in your life?
All holidays have been amazing since they give you time to relax and be with you family. Every time off is special.

How did you like the school?
DAA has been a wonderful experience so far. I have enjoyed working here and getting to know my students. It has been a refreshing experience to say the least.

What were your favorite and worst moments during your education?
The worst moments in education are when you get upset as a teacher at a student but it hits you later that you could’ve probably explained that concept a little better.
The best moments in education would be when my students come up with ideas and designs that are far better than what I’ve imagined and that helps me feel very proud of the work that I continue to do.

What hobbies do you have and what interests you? What are you hoping to try?
I enjoy cricket, badminton, taekwondo, football, pool, squash, xBox, technology and everything related to technology. I would love to fly a plane someday or at least a simulation of flying a plane.
The DAA community is glad to have a new member like Mr. Singh on our team.
